When my parents thought me not to litter, they told me that it may not seem like a big deal if I drop one little piece of trash on the ground. But what if I kept thinking that, and dropped lots of little pieces of trash on the ground. Soon, there would be a lot of trash. And if other people are also littering, there would be even more trash on the ground, so therefore I shouldn’t litter even a little bit, because it may seem like one piece of trash to me, but in reality it’s so much more.
This is how voting is. Say you live in a red state and you, along with 100,000 other people think your vote for gay rights won’t matter so you, and those 100,000 other people, don’t vote. Well, if you all voted, that’s 100,001 votes for gay rights.

And remember: if you don’t vote, you don’t get the right to complain about how the country is.
This. I’m losing all respect for people who don’t vote.
